New Diavel - old engine
Okay, perhaps “old engine” isn’t quite the right way of putting it - but the news is that Ducati have unveiled a new version of the Diavel and it now sports the V4 engine of other Ducatis in the range.
This “Granturismo” version burps out 168bhp and 12.8 kgm of torque - or to put it another way… enough to send you flying off the back, with your freshly severed arms still attached to the handlebars.
Other than that, there’s not a whole lot more to talk about. It’s 13kg lighter than the previous Diavel 1260 S - which means you’ll be doing 0-60mph in under three seconds and (hopefully) back to zero again in around the same time, thanks to the massive Brembo brakes.
But it’s not all about performance. There’s a nice plush pillion seat, hidden footpegs/grab rails and a pillion cover thrown in as standard. It has cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, Quick Shift and Launch Control.
Expect it to be very expensive.
