Ducati MotoE prototype details revealed
Like it or loathe it - the future of motoring is electric. We’ve all watched a MotoE race with a look of perplexion on our faces, as we try to decide whether or not we like it. It’s not the speed and it’s certainly not the looks - however, we (like many others) are still not convinced that MotoE works as a spectator sport as much as the bang-bang-shouty equivalent.
Honda announces new Hornet… but is at actually a Hornet?
Honda announced at EICMA 2021 that the legendary “Hornet” name will be returning to its line-up - but we have a few issues with it.
Kawasaki finally unveils new 400cc range
With the new Euro 5 specifications, the middle-weight category has become a lot harder to navigate these days. The 600s aren’t what they used to be (not least because a lot of them are now 700s) but there’s also a minefield of 300cc, 400cc and 500cc models to get you scratching your head.
Yamaha unveils new Tricity 125
We like three-wheelers here at Totally Motors - just go back and watch our road test of the Peugeot Metropolis. However, we recently rode the Yahama Tricity 300 and were a little disappointed with how cumbersome it felt at slow speed and that the 300cc engine didn’t have enough.
Yahama teases us with special edition R1.
As a final parting gift to MotoGP GOAT Valentino Rossi, Yamaha has produced a special R1 GYTR VR46 Tribute - with a ivery produced by Aldo Drudi, Rossi’s long-time helmet designer and friend.
Special 30th Anniversary Fireblade announced
Let’s be honest - the ‘blade was introduced in 1992 and has continued to evolve over the decades - but for some people, their views in regards to Honda’s flagship bike have wavered.
Getting into Track Days
We’ve all thought about it. We’ve pondered whether we could get away with heading down to our local race track and taking our car around for a few laps of honour. But a lot of people never take the plunge into track days, mainly because they are unsure how to go about it and are worried about damaging their pride and joy. Well never fear, we have broken down the essentials for you so you can make an informed choice.
Track Guide - Brands Hatch Indy
Of all the tracks in the Motorsport Vision empire, Brands Hatch is certainly the one with the most glamour – or as much as you can expect from a British track and has hosted a few Formula One races in the past. The Indy, despite being fairly small has held a ChampCar race dubbed the ‘London ChampCar Trophy’ and its name even came from a visit from CART IndyCars in the 80s. There is no denying that it is a great place to drive, and a great place to ride.
Driver Focus - Colin McRae
Rallying is in the McRae blood, Colin’s father Jimmy was a five-time British Rally Champion. His brother Alister has also graced the World Rally Championship. Those who watched rallying in the nineties will know the impact the McRae name had on the sport still reverberates today.
